LUIS POGGIO

My initial dental training was carried out in Madrid. I then went on to complete my studies at New York University. There, I got a master’s degree specialising in implantology and periodontology.

Once I finished my academic training, the university offered me a fellowship to stay for a second year. During that year, I split my time between the aesthetic department and teaching oral surgery students, which not only allowed me to learn surgical techniques, but also to develop a work philosophy which ultimately became a way of life.

When I went back to Spain, Hospitales San Roque offered me the possibility of running the dentistry department, an offer which I could not turn down. This exciting project has grown and evolved over the years until today, leading to the excellent facilities we have now available. This added value allows me to provide the best possible care to my patients, while developing the experience I acquired in New York and updating my knowledge every year according to both American and European Academies.  Because, the way I see it, continuous training is essential for health sciences.

Post-graduate studies

Master’s degree at New York University (NYU) in Periodontology and Implantology, taught by Dr Dennis Tarnow and Dr Michael Bral.

2007/8

Fellowship at NYU. I was invited by the University to stay at the aesthetics department and performed numerous surgeries and veneer treatments. I worked part-time in the oral surgery department and collaborated with the Department of Periodontics and Implants.

· Post-graduate course in oral rehabilitation, taught by Dr Anibal Alonso

· Conference in Boston, Quintessence, year 2007, 2010 and 2013.

· Clinical stay in Dr Fernández’s clinic for bone regenerations (Ibiza).

· Course on rotary endodontics at the International University of Cataluña (Barcelona).

· Member of the Spanish Society of Periodontology.

Professional Experience

Clinical practicum carried out during the 5th year of my Dentistry Degree in the Alfonso X University Clinic, practising on patients.

Dr. Dulce María López Henríquez’s dental clinic (3 months).

Bränemark Centre, in the periodontology department (5 years).

I am currently working at Clínica San Roque, carrying out implants, prothesis and periodontal procedures (8 years).
